Ciremai Train Journey Interrupted by Landslide, KAI Assures No Victims
JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI ensures that all passengers are safe after KA 174 Ciremai Semarang Tawang-Bandung relationship was affected by a landslide on the Maswati-Sasaksaat (MSI-SKT) road section.
The incident, which occurred at 14.53 WIB, caused the Ciremai train journey to be disrupted after the landslide material closed the line at Km 142+8/9.
KAI's Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, apologized for the inconvenience experienced by customers. He said that after the incident, officers were immediately deployed to the location.
"All customers are safe. There were no casualties or injuries in this incident. Our officers immediately handled the situation on site to ensure that safety was maintained," Anne said in an official statement, Wednesday, April 1.
The impact of the incident, continued Anne, a number of train trips on the line experienced operational arrangements.
KAI also immediately coordinated with related units and agencies to maintain travel safety and minimize service disruptions.
Currently, KAI infrastructure and facilities officers are continuing to handle the location, including evacuating the train series and cleaning the track from the landslide material so that the crossing can be immediately passed again.
"We focus on accelerating handling in the field while prioritizing safety aspects. All processes are carried out in a measured manner so that travel operations can immediately return to normal," Anne continued.
