Making Residents Uneasy, Sweet Skin Thief In Kerinci Arrested By Police
JAMBI - Residents of Kerinci Regency, Jambi are worried about the rampant theft of cinnamon. The police also conducted an investigation into this case.
The Gunung Kerinci Police Team managed to arrest the perpetrators who often made residents restless. The perpetrators who were arrested were Candra (48), a resident of Simpang Tutup Village, Gunung Kerinci District.
Candra was detained in Kubang Gajah Village, South Solok Regency, West Sumatra, at around 01.00 WIB, Friday, June 4 in the morning. After being arrested, the perpetrators were immediately taken to the Gunung Kerinci Police Headquarters.
The Head of the Public Relations Subdivision of the Kerinci Police, Iptu Julisman, said the arrests were made when members on Thursday, June 3 received information that the alleged perpetrator of the cinnamon theft was in South Solok, West Sumatra.
Led by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Gunung Kerinci Police, Ipda Alti Irawan went straight to the location.
"Candra alias Kancin was successfully secured and taken to the Gunung Kerinci Police for further legal proceedings," said the Head of the Public Relations Subdivision.
From the examination, the perpetrator admitted that he had stolen cinnamon more than 10 times in Mount Kerinci, Jambi.
"He admitted his actions, he admitted that he had committed more than ten times the theft of sweet skin," he explained.
It is suspected that the perpetrator had previously planned to flee to Malaysia. "In the perpetrator's bag we found a passport," he concluded.
