Earthquake Occurs In Ternate, 1 Minute Difference Following The Samosir Earthquake

JAKARTA - An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.9 occurred in Samosir, North Sumatra. The earthquake was 1 km deep.

Reported by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the magnitude 2.9 earthquake in Samosir occurred at 20.46 WIB, Friday, June 4. The coordinates of the earthquake were 2.54 North Latitude-98.78 East Longitude.

According to the BMKG, the earthquake was on land 12 km southeast of Samosir. The earthquake was felt on the MMI II scale in Samosir.

Previously, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 occurred in Ternate. The depth of the earthquake was 10 km.

BMKG noted that the earthquake occurred at 20.45 WIB with coordinates 0.38 North Latitude-126.28 East Longitude. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the sea 128 km southwest of Ternate.

There is no information regarding the impact of the earthquake in Samosir and Ternate.
