BUMN Employee In Baubau Sultra Dies Not Because Of COVID-19 Vaccination But Chronic Disease
BAUBAU - The spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force for Baubau City, Southeast Sulawesi, Dr. Lukman, said that the death of one SOE employee was not due to vaccination, but a history of chronic illness.
"We also convey that the second dose of vaccination that she (Mrs. WDP) received was not five days ago but one month ago. And from the available data, we also believe that Mrs. WDP (31) died not due to COVID-19 vaccination , the person concerned has a history of chronic disease," said Dr Lukman, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 4.
In addition, the internal medicine specialist conveyed the case of anxious symptoms of vaccination participants with the initials MA who is a teacher, not related to vaccination.
"Because the symptoms of anxiety experienced have been experienced since the beginning before being vaccinated, and from the available data, we also believe that it is not a follow-up event from immunization," he said.
According to him, a person who received the vaccination with the initials ARW before dying complained of chest pain and received the vaccination three months ago.
"So from the data in the three news reports in the mass media related to the MA, WDP and ARW, all of them are not related to the COVID-19 vaccination. From the existing data, we believe that is the case," said Lukman.
The Director of BLUD RSUD Baubau said, in the success of the COVID-19 vaccination program, it is hoped that the support and cooperation of all parties are expected so that immunization targets to accelerate the achievement of community immunity are achieved.
"The success of vaccination is also determined by public awareness, by our active role in reporting this vaccination issue. We cannot achieve community immunity if the vaccination target is not achieved," said Lukman.
Lukman said that currently the realization of vaccination in the area is at 77.53 percent, or a very high increase compared to previous weeks. Regarding the vaccination target at this stage, it remains for groups that provide public services and the elderly.
"The total number of those who have been vaccinated is 12,846, meaning that from that number they have received the first and second doses of our more than 30 thousand targets for health human resources, public service providers and the elderly," he said.
