JAKARTA - Chery officially introduced the QQ3 EV on March 30 by presenting four variants. The presence of the QQ3 EV places it as a challenger in the compact electric car segment, competing with models such as the Geely EX2 and BYD Atto 1.
Launching from Carnewschina, Wednesday, April 1, the QQ3 is priced from 58,900 to 78,900 yuan, or Rp. 145 million to Rp. 194 million. Since its launch, this model has immediately recorded 56,879 reservations based on the company's official data.
This car carries a unique design approach that Chery calls the "square in a circle" concept, with a rounded look. From the exterior, the QQ3 EV is equipped with a closed front grille, Q-shaped LED lights, and a curved design under the air intake.
Other details such as semi-hidden door handles and black-colored wheel arch accents also strengthen its modern character. Dimensionally, the vehicle has a length of 4,195 mm, a width of 1,811 mm, and a height of 1,573 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,700 mm.
Chery also provides six body color options that can be combined with customizable roof options. Entering the cabin, the QQ3 EV carries a combination of black and green colors and is equipped with the Lingxi AI smart cockpit system.
In the highest variant, a 15.6-inch touch screen with a resolution of 2.5K is combined with an 8.8-inch digital instrument panel, supported by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. This system has been integrated with the Carmind AI agent that allows visual-based voice interaction.
In addition, connectivity features such as Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, and Carlink are also available to support the user experience. Other interior features include front seats with ventilation and heating, smart rearview mirrors with color temperature settings, Bluetooth-based keys, and external voice broadcast features.
For storage, there are a total of 38 compartments, including a 70-liter front luggage compartment, a rear luggage compartment that can be expanded from 375 liters to 1,450 liters, and an additional 35-liter space under the rear seats.
In terms of performance, the QQ3 EV carries an electric motor placed in the rear with a rear-wheel drive system. There are two power options, namely 58 kW with 90 Nm of torque and 90 kW with 115 Nm of torque.
For power, this car offers two battery options, namely 29.48 kWh and 41.28 kWh, which can each travel up to 310 km and 420 km based on the CLTC standard. Fast charging from 30 percent to 80 percent is claimed to only take about 16.5 minutes.
Interestingly, QQ3 EV also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L) functions with a power output of 3.3 kW to 6.6 kW, allowing this vehicle to be used as an external power source.
As a complement, Chery attaches the Falcon 500 driver assistance system as an additional option, which is powered by the Horizon J6E chip with computing capabilities of up to 80 TOPS. This system is said to be able to deliver features such as assisted highway navigation and automatic parking.
