2 Bribery Juliari Coal Sent To Sukamiskin And Cibinong Prisons
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has sent two bribers from former Social Minister Juliari Peter Batubara, namely Harry Van Sidabukke and Ardian Iskandar Maddanatja, to two different prisons.
The execution of the two convicts in the COVID-19 social assistance bribery case in Greater Jakarta was carried out on Thursday, June 3.
Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, said that the execution of Harry Van Sidabukke was carried out by KPK Prosecutor Rusdi Amin. He was sent to the Class IA Sukamiskin Prison, Bandung, West Java in accordance with the Corruption Court's decision at the Central Jakarta District Court Number: 8/Pid.Sus-TPK/2021/PN. Jkt. Pst on May 5, 2021.
"(Harry Van Sidabukke, ed) is serving a reduced prison sentence of four years while in detention," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Ali Fikri told reporters, Friday, May 4.
Meanwhile, Ardian was sent to Cibinong Class IIA Prison to serve a four-year reduced prison sentence while in detention. This is in accordance with the decision of the Corruption Court in the Central Jakarta District Court Number: 9/Pid.Sus-TPK/2021/PN. Jkt. Pst dated May 5, 2021 which has permanent legal force.
In addition to being sent to prison, the two convicts were also charged with paying a fine of Rp. 100 million. "With the provision that if it is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for four years," said Ali.
Previously, the panel of judges at the Corruption Court sentenced businessman Harry Van Sidabukke to 4 years in prison in the alleged bribery case for the procurement of social assistance or COVID-19 social assistance.
Harry was proven to have given money to former Social Minister Juliari Batubara through two of his subordinates, Adi Wahyono and Matheus Joko Santoso. The amount of money given reached Rp1.28 billion and he received a procurement quota of 1.9 million COVID-19 social assistance packages.
A similar verdict was also handed down to Ardian Iskandar Maddanatja, who is the President Director of PT Tigapilar Agro Utama. The panel of judges assessed that Ardian was proven to have bribed Juliari worth Rp1.95 billion for the appointment of a company providing COVID-19 social assistance.
