Advanced, the 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE Can Detect Road Holes Through Cloud Technology

JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz officially introduced a refresh for the 2027 GLE-Class model line with more than 3,000 new components. This mid-size luxury SUV comes with a massive cabin technology transformation and a very diverse engine selection, ranging from four-cylinder units to a unique flat-plane-crank V8 engine.

The most striking update on the interior side is the incorporation of the MBUX Superscreen, a single glass panel that stretches across the dashboard and integrates three screens measuring 12.3 inches each. This system is supported by an AI-based virtual assistant as well as Microsoft Teams integration that allows users to conduct video conferences while driving.

In the performance sector, Mercedes-Benz offers consumers a wide range of engine flexibility:

Base Engine: 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo with 255 hp. Midrange Variant: 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbo with 375 hp. New PHEV: A six-cylinder engine-based plug-in hybrid system that produces 429 hp and 502 lb-ft of torque. Performance Variant: 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 530 hp that now uses a flat-plane crankshaft to meet future emission standards.

Referring to a report by Car and Driver, Wednesday, April 1, all 2027 GLE models will be equipped with all-wheel drive and a two-speed transfer case for off-road capabilities. Especially on the GLE580 type, there is an E-Active Body Control suspension that can scan the road conditions 1,000 times per second and a cloud-based hole detection feature that can warn other vehicles around it.

Other premium comfort features debuting on the model are Magic Vision Control, an advanced windshield cleaning system, as well as a 10.8 square foot panoramic roof that can be opened electrically.

Although the official price has not been announced, industry analysts estimate that the standard variant of the Mercedes-Benz GLE will be sold starting from around $64,000 (around Rp1.08 billion), while the high-performance AMG hybrid variant is predicted to break through the $92,000 (around Rp1.6 billion) mark. The first units are scheduled to be available in global markets by mid-year.
