Bahlil Assures Subsidized Fuel Will Not Rise as of April 1, 2026
JAKARTA - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia has ensured that the price of subsidized fuel oil (BBM) will not increase as of April 1.
"The government, based on the President's direction and the results of the meeting, there is no adjustment to the price of subsidized fuel, which means that it is flat, still using the current price," Bahlil said in an online press conference, Tuesday, March 31.
As for non-subsidized fuel, Bahlil said that until now he and the business entities providing fuel, both red plates and private, were still discussing. Thus, on April 1, there will be no price changes for subsidized and non-subsidized fuel.
"This is being discussed until the time is over. Well, when is the time? Wait. So what does it mean? There is still no price adjustment. It's still the same," said Bahlil.
The General Chair of the Golongan Karya Party said that in the midst of the rapid fluctuation of world oil prices, the government would continue to conduct more intensive studies to adjust policies to global developments.
Bahlil also ensured that the government would continue to pay attention to the purchasing power and interests of the community, especially the lower middle class.
"The President always pays attention to the interests of the people below. Especially for our brothers who are less able, they must get more attention, in order to make policies so that everything can run well," said Bahlil.
