Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Assures that Subsidized Fuel Prices Will Remain, Asking the Public Not to Panic

JAKARTA - The government ensures that subsidized fuel prices will not change amid the world's turmoil, which is still pressuring the energy market. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia confirmed that there has been no increase or decrease in the price of subsidized fuel.

"There is no adjustment up or down for the subsidized fuel price adjustment. This means that it is flat, still using the current price," said Bahlil in Seoul, South Korea, Tuesday, March 31.

Bahlil said the decision was taken at the direction of the President and the results of the government meeting. For non-subsidized fuel, the government is still discussing it with Pertamina and private gas stations. However, until now, the price has not changed either.

"For non-subsidized fuel, to this day we are discussing with the Pertamina team and other private gas stations. So it means that there is still no price adjustment, it is still the same," he said.

Bahlil also asked the public not to easily believe in news that did not come from the government. According to him, the source of confusing information will only add to the unrest in the midst of a sensitive situation.

"I ask all people to have information that is sourced from the government," he said.
