Police Reveal Drug Party At The Peak Under The Guise Of Family Gathering

JAKARTA - The North Jakarta Metro Police arrested five suspects in a drug party case in the Puncak area, Cipanas-Cianjur, West Java. This drug party disguised as a family gathering.

North Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Guruh Arif Darmawan, said the five suspects were suppliers of methamphetamine to 22 other drug users who took part in the activity.

"The drug party was held under the guise of a family gathering at the Villa in Puncak area, Cipanas-Cianjur, West Java. 60 people were arrested in this raid, 27 of whom tested positive for methamphetamine after a urine test was carried out at the location," said Guruh, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 4th.

Guruh said that based on the investigation, there were three suspected drug dealers from the five suspects.

The three people, with the initials HS, AR, and MS, confessed to the police as owners of a drug stall in the Muara Bahari Village area, Papanggo, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the two other suspects who were arrested with the initials IR and AL were MS's subordinates who were in charge of conducting drug transactions.

Until now, said Guruh, the police are still searching for other suspects suspected of being involved in the case of drug trafficking of methamphetamine in the area until they find out who is their main dealer.

However, for the case of a drug party at a villa in the Puncak area, Cipanas-Cianjur, West Java, the police found evidence of the involvement of HS alias Bodrex as a small dealer in the case.

Meanwhile, North Jakarta Metro Police Narcotics Head AKBP Ashanul Muqaffi said HS is an old player in the drug business. In fact, he said HS had also been a recidivist with different cases.

"In 2003 he was arrested for the theft of a motor vehicle (ranmor), after that he just started playing (drugs) in 2004," he said.

Suspect HS admitted that he could earn hundreds of millions of rupiah in a month from opening four stalls selling drugs in the Kampung Bahari area, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

"One month Rp 100 million can," said HS in front of reporters during a press conference.

To run his business, HS admits that he does not work alone. He employs four of his men in each stall. HS was also assisted by his own younger brother, MS. Meanwhile, AR admitted that he played a role in mobilizing the masses in Muara Bahari Village in the event of a raid. AR also admitted to owning two stalls to sell methamphetamine. However, to reporters, AR admitted that he had wanted to repent for a long time from his job.

The five suspects face a maximum prison sentence of 20 years in prison based on Article 114 subsidiary 112 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
