Pelni Diskon Tarif Kontainer 20 Persen, Genjot Angkutan Barang Pascalebaran

JAKARTA - PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero) or Pelni provides a 20 percent discount on container rates to encourage freight performance during the 2026 post-holiday period which tends to enter the low season.

This discount program is valid for reservations from March 27 to April 30, 2026 and is not tied to the ship's departure schedule. The tariff discount is given specifically on the fleet component for dry container and reefer container loads transported using five ships, namely KM Dobonsolo, KM Ciremai, KM Gunung Dempo, KM Dorolonda, and KM Sinabung according to their respective regular routes.

PELNI Corporate Secretary Ditto Pappilanda said this policy is a strategic step for the company to maintain the stability of logistics transportation after high mobility during Lebaran.

"Especially during the low season after the Lebaran homecoming flow," Ditto said in an official statement, Tuesday, March 31.

Ditto emphasized that the discount only applies to fleet rates, while handling or loading costs still follow the provisions of each port. In addition, this program also does not apply to empty container shipments that have their own tariff scheme.

According to Ditto, this program is open to all regular shippers without quota restrictions as long as the capacity of the ship's space is still available. Customers can make reservations through the MyCargoo service on the PELNI Mobile application or the nearest PELNI branch office.

"This discount applies to regular shippers and there is no quota limit per shipper as long as the capacity of the ship's space is still available," he said.

Through this program, PELNI targets a container load factor on passenger ships to reach at least 70 percent during the post-pandemic period.

"We hope that this initiative can encourage an increase in cargo volume and provide convenience for customers in distributing goods to various regions, including the 3TP region," added Ditto.

PELNI assesses that this policy is part of the company's commitment to maintaining the smooth running of the national logistics supply chain, while ensuring that freight services remain optimal amid declining demand for freight.

For information, PELNI currently operates 25 passenger ships serving hundreds of routes and dozens of ports throughout Indonesia.

In addition, the company also manages pioneer ship routes, sea tolls, to special transportation to strengthen logistics connectivity, especially in the lagging, leading, outermost, and border areas (3TP).
