Vice President of Global Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment, Isabelle Tomatis, stated that this decision was made amid ongoing global economic pressures.
According to him, the price change was carried out after a thorough evaluation to ensure that the company is still able to bring innovation and high-quality gaming experience for gamers around the world.
"This is a necessary step to ensure we can continue to provide innovative and high-quality gaming experiences to players around the world," Isabelle said in an official announcement.
In the United States market, the PS5 price is now $649.99 (Rp11 million) while the PS5 Digital Edition is priced at $599.99 (Rp10.2 million), and the PS5 Pro reaches $899.99 (Rp15.3 million).
In other markets such as the UK, Europe, and Japan, Sony also set new prices with adjustments to local currencies.
