Deny There is an Increase in Fuel Prices on April 1, the DPR Leadership Urges the Public Not to Panic Buying
JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad denied an increase in the price of subsidized and non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM) on April 1, 2026. He urged the public not to make large-scale purchases or panic buying by hoarding fuel.
Dasco said that until now the government had not planned to raise the price of subsidized and non-subsidized fuel. According to him, this information has also been conveyed by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi.
"Just now, the Minister of State Secretary on behalf of the government has announced that the government has not planned to adjust the prices of subsidized and non-subsidized fuel," Dasco said at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, March 31.
"This means that starting tomorrow the same price will still apply, so people don't need to panic, people don't need to queue, and more importantly stockpile fuel," he continued.
Dasco stated that President Prabowo Subianto is committed to continuing to maintain and oversee the community's needs related to fuel.
"Based on the results of communication with the government, President Prabowo's commitment will continue to monitor and maintain the public's need for fuel," said the Chairman of the DPP Harian Gerindra Party.
