This is the Chronology of the Death of 2 Soldiers during the Convoy in Lebanon
JAKARTA - The Head of the Information Center (Kapuspen) of the TNI Headquarters, Major General TNI Aulia Dwi Nasrullah, explained the chronology of the deaths of two TNI soldiers, namely Captain (Inf) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar and Sergeant Muhammad Nur Ichwan while carrying out a vehicle escort mission in South Lebanon.
Aulia explained that it all started when TNI soldiers, namely the Escort Team of B Company of the Yonmek XXIII-S/UNIFIL Task Force, which was part of the East Mobile Reserve (SEMR), escorted a convoy of UNIFIL vehicles in the South Lebanon region.
The TNI personnel escorted the vehicle from the East Sector Mako UNIFIL United Nations Post (UNP) 7-2 to the Mako Task Force Yonmek TNI Konga XXIII-S/UNIFIL at UNP 7-1.
"The incident occurred amid a high escalation of the conflict, where an explosion on a vehicle resulted in the deaths of two TNI soldiers," said Aulia, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, March 31.
Not only did the soldiers die, two other TNI soldiers on behalf of Lettu (Inf) Sulthan Wirdean Maulana and Praka Deni Rianto were also injured as a result of the attack.
Until now, Aulia has not been able to explain in detail what caused the car driven by the TNI soldier to explode.
He ensured that the TNI would wait for the results of the investigation from UNIFIL to reveal the cause of the explosion.
"To find out the cause of the incident, UNIFIL is currently conducting an investigation, the TNI is also continuing to monitor the development of the situation and preparing contingency measures in the face of the dynamics in the Lebanon Mission Area," concluded Aulia.
