3 Kg Subsidized Gas in North Sulawesi is Rare, the Provincial Government Hands Down
MANADO - The North Sulawesi Provincial Government (Sulut) carried out a raid on several agents and bases after the scarcity of 3 kilogram LPG.
"Today we conducted a direct raid at several subsidized gas agencies and bases. And we found that there was a price game being sold by the gas base to the public. Which should be sold at the highest retail price of Rp. 18,000, it was sold at a price of Rp. 20,000 per tube," said Assistant for Economic Affairs of the North Sulawesi Provincial Government, Jemmy Ringkuangan, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 31.
During the raid, Ringkuangan, accompanied by the Acting Head of the North Sulawesi Trade Office, Jhon Merentek and the North Sulawesi Regional Secretary for Economy, Reza W Dotulong, also found evidence of the distribution of subsidized gas cylinders that were problematic.
One of them is the distribution of gas cylinders to a base that was not registered, which is suspected of being a duplication of the name and data of the base.
"In the distribution of gas cylinders, we found that there was a distribution that was not fixed targets, or stalled. In fact, there was a distribution of subsidized gas cylinders to unregistered bases," he said.
According to the Ministry of Finance, there is no problem in terms of the quota for the availability of subsidized gas cylinders, but there is a shortage.
"Well, this is what we will immediately not follow up with the parties concerned," he said.
Ringkuangan emphasized that his party would continue to carry out this sidak activity periodically and massively to obtain data on the problems that really occur in the field.
"We will immediately follow up on these findings in coordination with the parties concerned, for sanctions. Whether it is a reprimand, up to the revocation of quotas and permits at the agency and base levels," said Ringkuangan.
