President Prabowo invites the world to witness Indonesia's great transformation

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized Indonesia's commitment to carry out massive reforms in front of Japanese businessmen at the Japan-Indonesia Forum in Tokyo, Japan.

Prabowo conveyed that Indonesia wanted international partners to know the direction of the transformation that the government was carrying out, ranging from governance reform to economic transformation.

"We want our partners to know that Indonesia is determined to implement real reforms. We want to create a modern and rational society. We want to uphold the rule of law. Our people demand good, clean, and efficient government," said Prabowo as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 30.

The main focus of the economic transformation carried out is downstream and industrialization. Indonesia, said Prabowo, can no longer rely solely on the export of raw materials without processing.

Protection of critical minerals as strategic assets is a dead price to ensure the welfare of future generations.

"We must secure the highest economic value from our resources. We can no longer be satisfied with simply exporting raw materials without added value. Our important minerals are strategic assets. Our mineral resources must be protected for future generations," said Prabowo.

Apart from the industrial sector, Prabowo also pays great attention to environmental sustainability.

Given Indonesia's position as the lungs of the world, the President invited international partners to support massive reforestation of damaged forests.

The Head of State emphasized that the protection of Indonesian forests is not only for domestic interests, but also a real contribution to the health of the planet earth.

"The forests that have been destroyed must be reforested massively. Not only for the good of Indonesia, but also for the good of the world. Many say we are the lungs of this planet. So, let's protect the lungs," said Prabowo.

In addition, Prabowo also expressed his commitment to accelerating the energy transition in front of Japanese entrepreneurs.

Indonesia targets the achievement of significant electricity capacity from renewable energy sources in a short time.

"We want to move very quickly to use electricity from solar energy. We have a plan and are determined to make it happen soon. In three years, we want to reach 100 gigawatt of solar energy. For us, it is urgent to see the current situation," said Prabowo.
