Jokowi's Legal Team Pushes for Prosecution of Alleged Funding of Fake Degree Case

JAKARTA - The head of the legal team of the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), and Secretary General of Peradi Bersatu, Ade Darmawan, fulfilled the call of investigators from the Subdit Kamneg Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya, Monday, March 30, 2026.

The examination is related to the request for a Letter of Order to Stop the Investigation (SP3) and a restorative justice (RJ) agreement submitted by the suspect Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar.

Ade arrived at around 11.00 WIB accompanied by Deputy Chairman of Peradi Bersatu Lechumanan and General Chairman of Jokowi Mania Andi Azwan.

"The call to us is to confirm the contents of the restorative justice agreement proposed by Rismon Sianipar," said Ade at the South Jakarta Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Monday, March 30, 2026.

On that occasion, Ade also touched on the issue of alleged funding behind the controversy of allegations of fake diplomas circulating on social media. He asked that the party suspected of funding the matter be thoroughly investigated.

"I heard there was a figure named Charlie Chaplin or a certain figure. I just conveyed to Brother Rismon not to play around with this matter. Reveal everything, who funded it must be processed," he said.

He even encouraged that those involved in funding could be charged with the alleged crime of money laundering (TPPU), if proven.

According to Ade, information regarding the figure referred to as a financier is still unclear and needs to be investigated by law enforcement.

"This must be thoroughly investigated. Do not let it become an issue that continues to be fried and considered normal, even though it has the potential to be a criminal act," he said.

Ade also asked those who felt involved to be open.

"Please gentleman out, don't just play behind the scenes," he said.

Digital forensic researcher, Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar, previously delivered a clarification and apology to Joko Widodo and his family regarding the findings in the Jokowi's White Paper.

In his statement, Rismon explained that the book was the result of the compilation of several writers, namely himself, Roy Suryo, and Tifauzia Tyassuma or Doctor Tifa. From a total of more than 700 pages, about 400 pages were written by him.

He emphasized that each author conducted the research independently. However, he admitted that there were errors in his analysis due to data limitations.

"As a researcher, I openly convey corrections due to incomplete data, including related to rotation, translation, and resolution of the tested data," he said.

Rismon emphasized the importance of objectivity in scientific research, including the courage to admit mistakes.

He also publicly apologized for the previous findings which were considered to have caused a commotion and hurt certain parties.

"I apologize gentlemanly to Mr. Jokowi's family and Mr. Jokowi," he said.
