President Prabowo attends Japanese-RI Business Forum, strengthens economic relations

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto attended the Japan-Indonesia Business Forum together with a number of members of the Red and White Cabinet as well as Indonesian entrepreneurs, with 10 business-to-business agreements being agreed upon in the forum with a value of 22.6 billion US dollars.

"After meeting with Emperor Naruhito, the President continued his series of state visits in Japan by attending the Japan-Indonesia Business Forum with members of the Red and White Cabinet as well as entrepreneurs from Indonesia," said Head of the Government Communication Agency (Bakom) Angga Raka Prabowo as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 30.

"In the forum, as many as ten business-to-business cooperation agreements with a value of USD 22.6 billion were agreed upon," he added.

He said the cooperation was a strategic step in strengthening the economic relationship between Indonesia and Japan.

Not only that, with this agreement, it can open up wider collaboration opportunities in various priority sectors. Including for opportunities in the industrial sector, energy and technology development.

Previously, the President also paid a courtesy visit to Japanese Emperor Naruhito at the Japanese Imperial Palace, Tokyo, Monday, to strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

According to official statements, on that occasion, in addition to discussing the formal agenda of the state, the talks were also colored by exchanges of light stories that reflected the personal closeness between the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Emperor of Japan.

President Prabowo also held a separate meeting with the Japanese Crown Prince Fumihito, who is the younger brother of the Emperor. The meeting further strengthened the emotional relationship and friendship between Indonesia and Japan to the level of the imperial family.

After the formal meeting session, President Prabowo together with Emperor Naruhito and Crown Prince Fumihito attended a state lunch.

The lunch agenda was held at Rensui North, one of the parts of the Imperial Palace complex. The atmosphere of the banquet was light with a view of the typical Japanese garden arranged right in front of the two leaders.

President Prabowo also expressed his admiration for the beauty of the park's atmosphere while casually talking to Emperor Naruhito throughout the event.
