JAKARTA - The developer Gameplay Group together with publisher PM Studios announced that their new game titled Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game is confirmed to launch on July 2, 2026.
In its official announcement, the developer said the game will be released on various platforms, ranging from PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, to PC via Steam.
For the PC version, pre-orders are already open via Steam, while PlayStation and Xbox users can already make a wishlist on their respective digital stores. Interestingly, the PlayStation 4 version which was previously announced is no longer included in the release plan.
In his statement, Gameplay Group founder Victor Lugo said that the game was designed to deliver a solid fighting experience from day one.
"For us, it's about bringing a fighting game that feels comfortable in the hands of players from day one. Avatar is a world that is perfect for the fighting genre - movement, mastery, and expression are the core of the gameplay. We built a responsive, deep, and competitive system," said Victor in the official release.
Similarly, PM Studios CEO Michael Yum added that the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe has a strong fan base for decades, so this project is considered to have great appeal.
The game will be available in two editions, namely the Standard Edition for 29.99 US dollars (Rp510 thousand) and the Deluxe Edition for 49.99 US dollars (Rp850 thousand).
The standard edition includes 12 characters, Story Mode, Arcade Mode, and online features such as Ranked and Casual matches. Meanwhile, the Deluxe edition will add a soundtrack, digital artbook, exclusive HUD, and a Year 1 Pass that contains five additional characters.
In terms of gameplay, Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game presents an elemental-based combat system with a "Flow System" mechanic that focuses on dynamic movement and expression of play style.
In addition, the game uses the 2D hand-drawn animation typical of the original series, complete with rollback netcode and cross-play features. Players can also utilize supporting characters to influence the fighting style and open up new attack variations in each battle.
