Arus Mudik Lebaran 2026 Lancar, DPR Minta Pelayanan Transportasi Terus Ditingkatkan
Member of Commission V of the House of Representatives, Syafiuddin, appreciates the implementation of the 2026 Lebaran homecoming and return flow which took place relatively smoothly and under control. He also asked for the service of land, sea and air transportation to continue to be improved.
"We appreciate the hard work of all parties who have ensured that the 2026 Eid homecoming and return flows run well, safely, and smoothly," Syafiuddin told reporters, Monday, March 30.
Syafiuddin explained, based on the data collected, there was an increase in vehicle volume of around 4.26 percent compared to the previous year. However, traffic management was considered quite effective so that it did not cause significant congestion at a number of crucial points.
The peak of the homecoming flow was recorded on March 18, 2026 (H-3), while the peak of the return flow took place on March 24, 28, and 29, 2026. During this period, the government together with related authorities implemented various traffic engineering such as one-way and contraflow systems, especially on the Trans Java Toll Road and Jakarta-Cikampek sections, which have proven to be able to disperse vehicle density.
Syafiuddin expressed his appreciation to the government, especially the Ministry of Transportation, the National Police Traffic Directorate, and all related institutions that have worked hard to regulate the smooth flow of homecoming and return this year.
"This shows the coordination between institutions is getting stronger," he said.
However, he emphasized the importance of continuous evaluation to improve the quality of services during the homecoming in the coming years. Syafiuddin also hopes that various innovations and policies that have been implemented this year can become the basis for continuous improvement in dealing with the surge in community mobility during the Lebaran momentum.
"The government needs to continue to conduct a thorough evaluation of the implementation of the Lebaran homecoming, including safety aspects. Hopefully, in the future, traffic flow management will be more optimal and the number of accidents can continue to be suppressed," he said.
Previously, the National Police recorded that as many as 2.5 million vehicles had returned to Jakarta after the 2026 Lebaran homecoming flow. National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said there were still hundreds of thousands of vehicles that had not returned.
Based on data from Jasa Marga, the number of vehicles leaving for homecoming was 2,946,891. This figure increased by 20.49 percent compared to 2025, namely 2,894,164 vehicles. Vehicles that have entered Jakarta as of Saturday morning, March 28, 2026, are around 2,561,629 units.
