Will Have A Deputy, MenPANRB Tjahjo Kumolo: Who Is Assigned Mr. President I'm Ready

JAKARTA - Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPANRB) Tjahjo Kumolo has no problem with the position of Deputy MenPANRB. He said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi)'s decision was solely to strengthen the ministry he leads.

"In principle, I, MenPAN-RB as assistant to the president, appreciate and are ready to carry out tasks in accordance with the presidential regulation," Tjahjo said in his video statement to reporters, Friday, June 4.

He also does not mind who will be assigned to accompany him.

"Who will be assigned by Mr. President as Wamen, I as MenPANRB am ready to accept the assignment of Deputy Minister of PAN-RB by the President," he said.

He believes that this strengthening is solely to describe President Jokowi's vision and mission in implementing bureaucratic reform.

"Because the key to the success of the national development of the Jokowi-Maruf work program lies in strengthening bureaucratic reform as a whole," he said.

The rules for the position of the Deputy Minister of PANRB are contained in Presidential Regulation (Perpres) Number 47 of 2021 which was signed by President Jokowi. In the Presidential Regulation, Article 2 states that deputy ministers are appointed and dismissed by the president to assist ministers in the KemenpanRB.

Furthermore, in article 2 paragraph 4 it is stated that the Deputy Minister has the task of assisting the Minister in leading the implementation of the duties of the Ministry of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform.

The task of the Deputy Minister in the Presidential Regulation is stated to assist the Minister in the formulation and/or implementation of policies of the Ministry of Empowerment of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform.

"Assisting the Minister in coordinating the achievement of strategic policies across organizational units of Middle High Leadership Positions or echelon I within the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform," the contents of article 2 paragraph 5 (b).

This Presidential Regulation was issued in Jakarta on May 19 and promulgated on May 21 by the Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna Laoly.
