President Prabowo Meets Emperor Naruhito to Strengthen RI-Japan Friendship

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto paid a courtesy visit to Japanese Emperor Naruhito at the Japanese Imperial Palace, Tokyo, to strengthen the friendship between the two countries, in a series of official visits to discuss a number of strategic issues.

Upon arrival at the Imperial Palace complex, President Prabowo was greeted directly by Emperor Naruhito when he got out of the vehicle. The two leaders then headed to the Take-no-ma room to carry out a photo session together before starting the core talks.

As reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 30, the meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere where the two leaders held a one-on-one talk session. In addition to discussing the formal agenda of the state, the conversation was also colored by light exchanges that reflected the personal closeness between the President of the Republic of Indonesia and the Emperor of Japan.

In addition to meeting with Emperor Naruhito, President Prabowo also held a separate meeting with the Crown Prince of Japan Fumihito who is the younger brother of the Emperor. This meeting further strengthened the emotional relationship and friendship between Indonesia and Japan to the level of the imperial family.

After the formal meeting session, President Prabowo together with Emperor Naruhito and Crown Prince Fumihito attended a state lunch. The lunch agenda was held at Rensui North, one of the parts of the Imperial Palace complex known for its classic architecture.

The atmosphere of the reception was light with a view of a typical Japanese garden arranged right in front of the two leaders.

President Prabowo had expressed his admiration for the beauty of the park's atmosphere while casually talking to Emperor Naruhito throughout the event.

The warmth created in this momentum is a strong signal that the strategic partnership between Indonesia and Japan continues to move forward in a more solid direction. The closeness shown by the two leaders is expected to become a strong foundation for future cooperation.

During the honor visit, President Prabowo was accompanied by a number of high-ranking state officials. Names present include Ragowo Hediprasetyo, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
