XTB Launches Emergency Lock Feature, Instantly Lock Account when There is Suspicious Activity

JAKARTA - XTB, a global investment app that provides access to US stocks and ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds), has launched a new feature called Emergency Lock.

Emergency Lock is a new security feature designed to help users protect their assets quickly. If there is suspicious login activity, users can limit access to withdrawing funds, buying, and selling assets with just one click.

The launch of this feature is in line with the high number of financial fraud and data leaks, where Surfshark's report states that Indonesia accounts for about 5% of data leak cases in Asia by 2025.

"Digital threats and cyber security are increasing rapidly. However, many people still feel unable to do anything when something seems suspicious," said Omar Arnaout, CEO of XTB.

This threat is reinforced by BSSN data which notes that throughout 2024 there were 2,487,041 advanced persistent threat (APT) activities, 514,508 ransomware activities, and 26,771,610 phishing activities that occurred in Indonesia.

The emergency lock feature in the application allows XTB users to secure their accounts instantly if they suspect unauthorized access.

After changing the password, users can reactivate the account function by scanning their faces to ensure only the legitimate owner can reopen the account.

"We want to give our users a way to take control in seconds. The emergency lock feature protects customer funds instantly and gives them peace of mind that their money is working safely for them," said Omar.

Emergency lock further strengthens XTB's commitment to creating a safer, easier, and more comfortable investment experience. This feature is available in the XTB investment application starting from the XTB version 2.160 application.
