Police Secure 7 Air Balloons with Explosives
PEKALONGAN - The Bojong Police together with the Koramil held an air balloon patrol in the jurisdiction of Pekalongan Regency, Saturday (28/3/2026).
The patrol, which was directly led by Bojong Police Chief Inspector General Wastono, targeted a number of points that were considered vulnerable to the flight of unmanned aerial balloons, which were often accompanied by firecrackers or mercon.
During the activity, officers managed to secure a total of seven unmanned aerial balloons of various sizes, namely about 10 meters, 7 meters, 4 meters, to 2 meters. In addition, officers also seized seven mercons, including one type of grenade mercon and mercon powder weighing approximately 250 grams.
All the evidence was then secured to the Bojong Police Station for further handling.
Bojong Police Chief Inspector General Wastono emphasized that the flight of an unmanned air balloon accompanied by explosives is very dangerous, especially for flight safety.
"This unmanned aerial balloon has the potential to interfere with flight paths and endanger safety. Moreover, if equipped with mercon, the risk can be much greater," said Wastono.
He also appealed to the public not to make or fly balloons wildly, especially with additional explosives.
According to him, the police together with the TNI will continue to increase patrols and enforcement to prevent potential dangers, and to maintain a conducive kamtibmas situation in the Pekalongan Regency area.
