Katen Police Secure Dozens of Bottles of Alcoholic Beverages from Several Cafes

KLATEN - The Klaten Police through the Samapta Unit continues to intensify liquor raids. This activity is carried out in the context of the Enhanced Routine Activity (KRYD) to maintain a safe and orderly community situation.

The raid, which was carried out on Friday (27-03-2026) at 22.30 WIB, targeted a number of cafes in the Klaten Tengah sub-district area which were suspected of selling liquor, to locations suspected of being places of sale of unlicensed alcoholic beverages in the Klaten Regency area. The operation was directly led by the Head of the Klaten Police's Samapta, AKP Idris.

During the activity, officers found a number of alcoholic beverages sold without a license, one of which was a cafe owned by a resident in the Bareng Tengah Klaten area who was found to have stored 54 bottles of various brands of alcoholic beverages in a refrigerator/refrigerator.

All the liquor was then secured by officers as evidence.

The Klaten Police Chief through the Head of the Klaten Police's Samapta, AKP Idris, said that this raid activity was part of the police's efforts to maintain a safe and conducive situation after Eid. According to him, the circulation of liquor has the potential to trigger kamtibmas disturbances if it is not disciplined.

"We increase patrol and raid activities against the circulation of liquor. The goal is so that the community can carry out activities safely and comfortably," said AKP Idris.

He explained that this raid was also part of the implementation of KRYD which targets various forms of community diseases, including the circulation of unlicensed liquor.

"We not only take action, but also provide guidance to sellers so that they no longer sell alcoholic beverages without a permit that violates regional regulations," he explained.

In addition to confiscating evidence, officers also recorded the identities of the sellers and made a police report, then the liquor seller will be prosecuted with a trial (minor criminal offense).

The Head of the Samapta Police, emphasized that the police would continue to carry out regular supervision. "We will continue to carry out similar activities regularly to ensure that the Klaten Regency area remains safe, orderly, and conducive," he said.

He also invited the public to play an active role in maintaining environmental security by not consuming or selling illegal alcoholic beverages.

"We hope that the community will jointly maintain environmental order. If you find activities that have the potential to disrupt kamtibmas, immediately report to the police," he concluded.
