JAKARTA - Geely adds to its lineup of cars in the Philippine market by launching the EX5 EM-i, or the PHEV version of the EX5 which is fully electric and already available in Indonesia.
Quoting from the Top Gear PH website, Sunday, March 29, the latest Geely EX5 EM-i is priced at a competitive price, starting from 1,288,000 pesos or Rp361 million for the Pro variant, and the Max variant is at 1,468,000 pesos (Rp411 million).
The EX5 EM-i comes with many interesting features as standard, but the top version gets all the more complete features. The standard version comes with adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and front collision warning with automatic emergency braking.
Meanwhile, the top version has more safety technology such as traffic warnings with emergency braking and blind spot detection.
A 15.4-inch infotainment system with a 10.2-inch LCD screen is also standard. This main unit is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity as well as a six-speaker audio setup by default. The higher Max variant comes with a 16-speaker Flyme sound system.
Talking about its heart, the PHEV version of the EX5 has a plug-in hybrid drive system consisting of a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that produces 98 hp and 125 Nm of torque. The car is equipped with a 18.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery that powers the front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor, which is capable of producing 215 hp and 262 Nm of torque.
With a 30kW DC charger, the EX5 EM-i can charge from 30 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes. Meanwhile, a 6.6kW AC charger can fully charge the battery in three hours. The maximum combined range of the hybrid powertrain is 1,000 km, while the EV range alone is recorded at 105 km.
Considering that Geely is already present in Indonesia by bringing various models, will the EX5 EM-i soon be present in the automotive market in the country? Of course it's worth waiting for.
