Sprint Race Winner, Jorge Martin Even Fell After Celebrating

JAKARTA - Aprilia rider Jorge Martin had an incident after securing himself as the champion in the 2026 United States MotoGP sprint race. He fell because of the excitement of celebrating wheelie at the American Circuit (COTA), Sunday (29/3) early morning WIB.

The victory was the first for Martin since the MotoGP champion in 2024. Because the last time he won the sprint race was at the 2024 Malaysian MotoGP.

Jorge Martin celebrated the achievement by doing a wheelie after crossing the finish line. The accident for the Spanish rider, he actually slipped and fell.

Fortunately, Jorge Martin was not injured. The 2024 MotoGP champion was still able to climb the podium of the American MotoGP sprint race.

According to Martin, he did not expect to win the race in three series, especially after experiencing a bad season in 2025.

"I'm really happy with today. I never thought that when I started the season in Thailand, I would win the race after three rounds," Martin said as quoted by Crash.

"This is amazing. I am very grateful to Aprilia. They have helped me a lot to reach my level again," said Martin.

Martin did not deny that the injury he suffered at the beginning of 2025 was still painful. Therefore, when he won again after one year, Martin was so happy.

"I feel like I'm a better rider than before. I feel stronger. I still feel some problems with my physical condition, especially pain," said Martin.
