UMKM Actors Welcome the Implementation of the Monas People's Bazaar
JAKARTA - The presence of a people's bazaar in the National Monument (Monas) area received a warm welcome from micro, small, and medium-sized business (UMKM) actors who reported an increase in income and a special moment because they could share with the community in the atmosphere of Lebaran.
In a statement from the Presidential Secretariat's Press, Media, and Information Bureau received in Jakarta, Sunday, Fauzi, a bakso trader from West Jakarta, expressed his gratitude and happiness to be able to participate in the activities held on Saturday, March 28.
"How is it, it's amazing. It's rare to have something like this. Usually, this order is for the service, but this is the first time for Mr. Prabowo mah, good. It helps a lot of MSMEs, it helps a lot," said Fauzi, quoted by Antara.
He received an order to prepare more than 500 portions of meatballs to be distributed for free to visitors. According to him, this activity is a rare experience and at the same time very helpful for MSMEs.
In addition, Fauzi explained that the condition of raw material prices during the Lebaran momentum this year was relatively stable and had not experienced a significant increase.
"For materials, they are still stable. There has been no price increase this Eid. There has been no change in price from the market," he said.
The same was conveyed by Megawati, an UMKM rendang perpetrator from South Jakarta who also took part in the bazaar.
He admitted that he received an order for 500 packages of rendang rice, but was still enthusiastic about fulfilling the request despite the limited time and the challenge of the availability of raw materials.
Megawati also assessed that bazar activities like this are very helpful for MSMEs, not only in terms of income, but also open up opportunities for product promotion. He hopes that similar activities can continue to be carried out in the future, including capital support for MSMEs.
"Hopefully we in this MSME can be helped with events like this and the next events will also be helped for capital," explained Megawati.
Meanwhile, Shela, a pempek trader from Bintaro, South Jakarta, also felt the great benefits of this activity. He also appreciated the involvement of MSMEs in activities initiated by the government.
According to him, this activity is a tangible form of attention to small business actors.
"It really helps me, to make money again. Adding capital again," said Shela.
Shela, who feels that he represents UMKM actors, also hopes that similar activities can continue to be carried out sustainably.
In addition to providing economic impact, the free people's bazaar is considered to be a momentum of togetherness between the government, business actors, and the community in celebrating Eid al-Fitr with the spirit of sharing.
"We embrace small MSMEs. Don't just the big ones. We need it, we don't have big names like big restaurants, but we are at home, MSMEs are the ones who need to be embraced. It's like, small MSMEs like us," said Shela.
Previously, a people's bazaar had been held in the area of the National Monument in Central Jakarta, which was initiated by President Prabowo Subianto on Saturday (28/3).
More than just economic transactions, the purpose of the people's bazaar is to present a deeper meaning, namely collaboration between the government, business actors, and the community in the spirit of sharing.
Thousands of portions of food distributed not only fill, but also strengthen the sense of togetherness in the atmosphere of Eid al-Fitr.
