The body of former Minister of Defense Juwono Sudarsono was buried at 11.00 WIB at the Ministry of Defense Building

JAKARTA - The body of the Minister of Defense (Menhan) during the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia Abdurrahman Wahid alias Gus Dur and the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono alias SBY, namely Juwono Sudarsono, was buried at the Ministry of Defense Building (Kemhan), Jakarta, on Sunday, March 29 morning.

The deceased's body arrived at the Defense Ministry Building at 08.00 WIB and was immediately carried out the funeral procession. Head of the Defense Information Bureau of the Defense Ministry, Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait said that the body was buried in a room called the Quiet Room.

"If there will be national figures who will be present, condolences and so on, you are welcome," said Rico when interviewed, quoted by Antara.

He said that the inauguration procession would be held until 11.00 WIB. After that, according to him, the body will be carried out by the release procession led by Deputy Minister of Defense (Wamenhan) Donny Ermawan.

"Then the body will be taken to Kalibata Heroes Park, after the release from the Ministry of Defense at 11.00 WIB," he said.

Previously, the Professor of International Relations at the University of Indonesia died on Saturday, March 28 at 13.45 WIB at Pondok Indah Hospital, Jakarta.

The funeral of Juwono, who was also the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) during the 3rd President of the Republic of Indonesia, Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie, is scheduled for Sunday, March 29, at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery Park, South Jakarta.

Apart from serving as the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Education and Culture, Juwono is known to have served as the Minister of State for the Environment during the second President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soeharto.
