Monas Bazaar is invaded by residents, the Presidential Chief of Staff Teddy said Prabowo wants the Eid euphoria to not end quickly after

JAKARTA - The government held a people's bazaar at Monas, Jakarta, Saturday, March 28, 2026, with a simple but big target, namely to make the atmosphere of Eid still felt in public spaces and can be accessed by more residents. The program was carried out after President Prabowo Subianto asked for similar activities to be expanded, not only in the palace environment.

The Secretary of the Cabinet (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya said the bazaar was held by involving the Ministry of MSME and a number of other ministries. The activities include cheap markets, folk entertainment, to children's games.

"The President instructed us, then through the Ministry of MSME and several other ministries to carry out the bazaar. Then the cheap market, then there is people's entertainment, then there are children's games," Teddy told reporters.

According to Teddy, the organization of the bazaar at Monas is inseparable from the high enthusiasm of the people at the previous Lebaran activities at the Palace. Therefore, the government is trying to bring the same atmosphere to a more open space.

"The President wants to make this Eid atmosphere still feel, so maybe for the first time yes, for the first time after Eid here, at Monas, in this big field, an event like this is made. So if you see behind the palace for the people, so hopefully everyone can celebrate Eid," he said.

During the event, the government prepared 100 thousand shopping coupons that could be exchanged for basic necessities and small business products. Seskab Teddy said the number of people who came has continued to increase since the afternoon.

"Earlier, the report from the Police Chief, more than 100 thousand people, from 4 o'clock who came here, and the more crowded the more crowded, maybe 200 thousand, the portion of the food alone is 300 thousand, and earlier the report was almost over, so yes, more than that," he said.

Teddy said the government opened the opportunity for similar activities to be held regularly.

"This is the first time, of course, the President wants the best, yes, it will be routine," he said.
