PP Tunas Resmi Berlaku, Kemenag Siapkan Penguatan Literasi Digital untuk 13 Juta Siswa dan Santri

JAKARTA - The Government Regulation on the Governance of the Electronic System for Child Protection or PP Tunas officially came into force starting March 28, 2026. Following the rule, the Ministry of Religion stated that it would strengthen digital literacy for students and students in religious and religious education environments.

Head of the Public Relations and Public Communication Bureau of the Ministry of Religion, Thobib Al Asyhar, said the step was important because more than 13 million students and students were under the guidance of the Ministry of Religion. According to him, strengthening digital literacy is needed so that young people are not only capable of using technology, but also understand ethics and responsibility in the digital space.

"We welcome the implementation of PP Tunas. This is an opportunity to strengthen digital literacy among students and students, so that they are able to use technology wisely and responsibly," said Thobib in Jakarta, Friday, March 28, 2026.

He explained that this strengthening would be driven through the learning process at religious and religious education institutions. The materials provided include digital ethics, the ability to sort out information, and strengthening religious values.

The Ministry of Religion will also optimize the role of teachers, religious counselors, boarding school managers, preachers, and imams to expand digital education to the community. Collaboration with various parties is said to continue to be strengthened to create a safe and child-friendly digital space.

"Digital literacy is an important part of shaping the character of the younger generation. We want to ensure that students and students are not only users of technology, but also able to be agents of change that bring positive values in the digital space," said Thobib.

Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar emphasized that the implementation of PP Tunas is not enough to rely on rules, but must also be strengthened through families and religious education. According to him, parents and the closest environment also need to be involved so that the digital space becomes healthier for children.

"We want the digital space to be a safe, healthy, and inclusive space. Therefore, digital literacy must be taught to children, parents, and their immediate environment," said Nasaruddin.

He added that madrasahs, pesantren, and religious advisors would be optimized to build awareness about ethics and responsibility for digital media.
