Pasar Senen Station Still Packed with Tens of Thousands of Passengers on H+7

JAKARTA - The arrival and departure conditions of long-distance train passengers at Pasar Senen Station, Jakarta, on Saturday or H+7 Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah are still crowded with tens of thousands of passengers.

Based on information obtained from the Central Jakarta Police Service Post at Pasar Senen Station, a total of 32,352 passengers came and went from the station, with a breakdown of 18,590 passengers arriving and 13,762 passengers departing per 11.00 WIB.

Head of the Pasar Senen Station Service Post, Iptu Budi Santoso, said that passenger conditions until March 28 were still quite crowded.

"Today, the condition of passengers at Pasar Senen Station is still crowded. The data we obtained from KAI, the number of passengers arriving is more than departing. There are 18,590 arrivals and 12,762 people who have departed," said Budi.

According to Budi, this number is still lower than the number of passengers on the return trip during the peak conditions which occurred on March 24 and 25, which reached 21 thousand to 24 thousand people.

His party predicts that passenger crowds will still occur until Sunday, March 29, 2026.

Observation by ANTARA from 10.00 WIB, the condition of passengers at the station was still crowded, even before arriving at Pasar Senen Station, from Manggarai and also Jatinegara Station, there was still movement of long-distance train passengers who were about to leave Pasar Senen Station.

They were monitored with their appearance carrying suitcases and additional items. Some were alone and some were leaving in a family group.

Passenger movement at Pasar Senen Station was also crowded, queues occurred when entering the arrival door and also the departure of the train. The seats in the waiting room were also filled with passengers, some also chose to sit in the aisle because they did not get a seat.

Many passengers are also waiting while enjoying the food available at a number of fast food restaurants in the station area.

Especially at Pasar Senen Station, the National Police deployed 21 personnel who were tasked with overseeing and securing the activities of people who went out and went away. They were assisted by 24 personnel under the control of operations (BKO) from the Metro Jaya Police.

Budi Santoso emphasized that the security and order situation at the Senen Market Station during the homecoming and return flow periods was safe and conducive, and there were no notable incidents.

He said that for conventional crimes, such as theft and fraud or bargaining, it did not happen. The online ticket system currently prevents bargaining from occurring.

"Tiketing is now online, so those who leave must match the KTP and their faces must match the customer. So, for bargaining there is no more," he said.
