Prabowo Subianto Promotes Efficiency, West Java DPRD Supports WFH ASN

BANDUNG - Deputy Chairman of the West Java DPRD, Iwan Suryawan, emphasized that the Work From Home (WFH) policy for state civil servants (ASN) is a strategic step to respond to President Prabowo Subianto's direction in facing global economic pressures.

According to Iwan, the policy is not only about work flexibility, but is part of efforts to increase energy and budget efficiency amid global uncertainty, including the impact of geopolitical tensions between Iran and the United States.

"This WFH policy must be supported as part of bureaucratic efficiency. In the midst of the threat of a global energy crisis, every saving of fuel from ASN mobility is very meaningful," said Iwan, Friday, March 27.

He said that with the number of ASN in the West Java Provincial Government reaching more than 33 thousand people, the implementation of WFH has the potential to have a significant impact on savings in operational budgets, including electricity and transportation.

However, Iwan reminded the importance of strict supervision through digital systems such as GPS and online attendance so that ASN performance remains measurable.

"WFH does not mean a holiday, but moving the workspace with an orientation on results. Discipline must be maintained," he said.

In addition to budget efficiency, this policy is also believed to reduce congestion and reduce air pollution, especially in the Greater Bandung area.

In line with this, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that the implementation of WFH is a concrete step to maintain the fiscal health of the region.

"With this scheme, we can reduce operational budgets such as electricity, water, to telecommunications in offices. This is a real form of efficiency," said Dedi.

He explained that the WFH scheme in the West Java Provincial Government was implemented in shifts, where ASN continued to work from the office at the beginning of the week for coordination, while the other days could be done remotely with the supervision of the head of the OPD.

Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian emphasized that the policy of WFH at least one day a week has become part of the national strategy to reduce energy consumption.

"This is not a new thing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, services continued to run even though WFO was limited. Now it's just strengthened and reported to the President for national policy," said Tito.

With the synergy between the central and regional governments, the West Java DPRD is optimistic that the WFH policy can become a new standard for a more efficient, adaptive bureaucracy, while maintaining the quality of public services.
