Prabowo-Ray Dalio Discusses Economic Outlook and Strengthening Danatara
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto and International Finance Advisor and International Finance Advisor Ray Dalio discussed Indonesia's economic prospects as well as optimizing and strengthening the role of Danantara as the engine of Indonesia's economic growth.
The discussion was held in a meeting between Prabowo and Ray Dalio at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Friday afternoon.
"The meeting discussed the prospects for the Indonesian economy, as well as the optimization and strengthening of Danantara's role as the engine of Indonesia's economic growth," said the Cabinet Secretariat (@sekretariat.kabinet) Instagram account on Friday, March 27, reported by ANTARA.
In the meeting, efforts to optimize Danantara as a national strategic investment management agency, including strengthening its role in encouraging economic growth, were discussed.
Danantara as an Indonesian strategic investment management agency established by President Prabowo Subianto in February 2025 to optimize state assets, manage strategic SOEs, and act as a Sovereign Wealth Fund.
Danantara also continues to work with strategic partners to increase Danantara's trust and strength in the international arena.
The meeting was also attended by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Minister of Investment and Head of BPI Danantara Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Higher Education Brian Yuliarto, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
When met after the meeting, Purbaya said Prabowo and Ray Dalio's meeting discussed efforts to encourage foreign investors to enter Indonesia.
"He is helping us to invite foreign investors with some proposals he had earlier. Later we will see that we will accelerate to ensure it works," said Purbaya.
He said Ray Dalio would help promote Indonesia abroad as well as bring a number of proposals to attract investors.
The proposal will be immediately followed up so that the proposed projects can be immediately realized.
Purbaya also said that he also highlighted when there were projects that were running slowly. He said his party would deal with the obstacles to speed up the completion in a short time.
During the meeting, there were a number of inputs related to projects that were considered capable of accelerating the movement of the national economy, including projects in the energy sector and special economic zones.
In the energy sector, Purbaya said that the projects discussed were indicated to be related to the development of solar power plants (PLTS)
He also revealed that there were projects involving investors from Singapore and the country that were encouraged to accelerate their implementation. However, he said, the details of the project have not been presented in detail.
In discussing the economic area, Purbaya said there were plans to add one special economic zone (KEK) to increase investment attractiveness.
