Minister of Finance Purbaya Reveals New Coretax Problems, Old Vendors Are Allegedly Entering Again Secretly
JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa revealed a new problem in the Coretax system in the midst of an extension of the annual SPT reporting for one month. He said that there were old vendors who had previously been stopped because of slow service, but were suspected of entering again without the knowledge of the leadership.
"Suddenly, there was another report at Coretax that it was muter-muter Coretax. In fact, it had disappeared before," said Purbaya at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday, March 27.
According to the Minister of Finance, the problem was not merely a technical disruption. Purbaya actually alluded to the existence of parties within the internal who were suspected of re-inserting the vendor secretly.
"Apparently in our place there are also naughty ones. There are those who have a contract with one vendor that we have stopped because of the poor service, they are put in again diem-diem," he said.
He ensured that he would check who was responsible and take action against those involved.
"Later I will check again who put the vendor in, we will follow up," he said.
Purbaya said that the SPT reports that have been entered so far are around 9 million. Meanwhile, there are still around 7 million to 8 million taxpayers who have not reported. Therefore, the reporting period has been extended for a month.
"As far as I know, 9 million have entered, there are still 7-8 million more that must enter. So it's still quite long so we extend it for one month," he said.
He also assessed that the Coretax design was too complicated. According to Purbaya, the system should be immediately made easily accessible to the public, not open an additional interface space in the middle of the process.
"Coretax is designed a bit strange. It should be made directly interface with the community so that it is easy. Apparently it was made a bit complicated so that in the middle there is an interface application itself," said Purbaya.
The government's current focus is to secure the system that is already running. After that, the interface space that is considered to be a source of obstacles will be improved.
"The obstacles that are there, I will clean this one, the interface space that was deliberately created," he said.
