Almost 52 Thousand Passengers of the Balik Train Flow Arrived in Jakarta until Friday Morning

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Operation (Daop) 1 Jakarta recorded 51,975 train passengers arriving at various stations in the Daop 1 Jakarta region, based on data as of March 27, 2026 at 09.00 WIB.

This number is lower when compared to the number of passengers who arrived on Thursday (26/3), which was 53,132 people.

"Entering the reverse flow, the volume of passenger arrivals is also quite high, dominated by favorite destination cities such as Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Purwokerto, and Bandung," said KAI Public Relations Manager Daop 1 Jakarta Franoto Wibowo as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 27.

If the arrival of passengers is detailed by station, Pasar Senen and Gambir Stations are the two main knots of the return flow. On Friday, the highest number of passengers came to Pasar Senen Station with 18,473 people, followed by Gambir Station with 15,230 people, and Bekasi Station with 8,662 people.

Meanwhile, the number of passengers departing from various KAI Daop 1 stations is lower when compared to the number of arriving passengers. Based on data as of March 27, 2026 at 09.00 WIB, the number of passengers departing from Daop 1 was 31,683 people.

Based on the station, Pasar Senen Station again recorded the highest number with 13,733 passengers, followed by Gambir Station with 7,913 passengers, and Bekasi with 5,154 passengers.

Franoto ensured that long-distance train tickets departing from Jakarta during the 2026 Lebaran Transportation were still available in sufficient numbers, especially for the return period until April 1, 2026.

Based on data as of March 27, 2026 at 09.00, KAI recorded a total capacity of long-distance train seats during the Lebaran Transportation period (March 11-April 1, 2026) reaching 1,083,674 seats, with an average occupancy rate (occupancy) of 81 percent. This means that there are still 168,816 seats available, especially for departures in the period from March 27 to April 1, 2026.

"We urge the public to immediately make reservations so that they can plan their trip more comfortably," said Franoto.

During the Lebaran Transportation period, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has served hundreds of thousands of customers. During the homecoming period (March 11-20, 2026), a total of 483,389 passengers departed, with the highest peak occurring on March 18, 2026 with 53,576 passengers.
