France beat Brazil 2-1, Kylian Mbappe: This is not the World Cup final

France won a victory that lifted the morale of the players even though it was only a trial match. The reason is that France defeated one of the strongest South American teams, Brazil, with a score of 2-1 in a match at Gillette Stadium, Boston, USA, Friday, March 27, 2026 early morning WIB.

The victory was quite convincing because France had to play with 10 players after defender Dayot Upamecano was sent off in the 55th minute. However, France was able to add a goal. Didier Deschamps' team also managed to maintain the lead because Brazil could only narrow the gap.

The success of defeating Brazil, who are with France as the favorites at the 2026 World Cup, at least raised the players' confidence. Their preparations are getting more mature with the return of Mbappe who also contributed a goal and opened Les Bleus' victory.

However, the Real Madrid star stated that it was best not to overreact to the match. Even though it is a big match that brings together two elite teams in the world, this is just a trial.

"I've said before that we won't overdo it with the match. This is not even the World Cup final. Nevertheless, we still showed the best performance. The team is also very dynamic," said Mbappe as quoted by france24.

Mbappe said he was still satisfied with the team's performance. According to him, the match was still a good warm-up for the 1998 and 2018 world champions.

"We created a lot of chances. We also played solid even though we were close to the end of the game. We are still looking forward and this match will still help us in preparation for the World Cup," said the 27-year-old.

Meanwhile, Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti was not disappointed even though his team suffered a defeat. According to him, the team's game improved well in the second half, especially after the entry of Luiz Henrique.

"From this match it is clear that we can compete with the best teams in the world. I have no doubt about that," said Ancelotti.

"We are fighting a strong and quality team. We were able to keep up with them until the last minute. I assure you that we will fight with all our abilities in the World Cup," he said.

In this first duel after the two teams met in a trial in Paris 11 years ago which Brazil won 3-1, France tried to take the initiative to attack. In that match, Ancelotti could not field the best team because he lost goalkeeper Alisson Becker, the duo of defenders Gabriel Magalhaes and Eder Militao, midfielder Bruno Guimaraes and two forwards Rodrygo and Estevao.

However, Brazil was able to equalize France. Meanwhile, France also had trouble breaking through the Selecao defense until Mbappe finally managed to break the deadlock.

Receiving a pass from Ousmane Dembele, Mbappe was able to maximize the opportunity to turn the score to 1-0 in the 32nd minute. This score lasted until the first half ended.

Entering the second half, France continued to play offensively. However, they had to lose Upamecano who committed a foul against defender Wesley in the 55th minute.

The referee reviewed the incident via VAR. The result, referee Guido Gonzales who originally gave a yellow card then issued a red card for the Bayern Munich defender.

Playing with 10 people did not make France lose their offensive power. They could even add a goal when striker Hugo Ekitike, who welcomed Michael Olise's assist, successfully defeated Ederson's goalkeeper in the 65th minute. The score changed to 2-0 for France.

Falling behind by two goals made Brazil try to respond. However, Raphinha et al. could only score one goal through Bremer in the 78th minute. His close-range shot, which completed Luiz Henrique's assist, changed the score to 2-1. The score remained until the end of the match.
