Workers on the Railway Track Have Hope to Have a House After Meeting President Prabowo
Jakarta - In the midst of President Prabowo Subianto's visit to the Senen Market Station area, Central Jakarta, Thursday, March 26, there is hope from a resident who is familiarly called Pak Cono, namely having a decent place to live.
For more than three decades he survived on the side of the train tracks. Mr. Cono spent his days with odd jobs, scavenging whatever could make money. In the midst of the struggle, he had to accept the fact of living in a simple tent with his wife on the Senen area train tracks.
When the rain and wind came, the place they called home no longer provided protection. The burden of life was felt more with the five children he had to bear.
For the safety and comfort of his children, Pak Cono chose to rent a simple rented room, even though it meant that he and his wife still stayed in a tent by the tracks.
The story of Pak Cono is a real portrait that behind the glitz of the capital, there are still people who live in extreme limitations. However, in the midst of this condition, hope suddenly comes in an unexpected form.
He admitted that he had met directly with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, when he visited the location. That moment became a turning point that awakened a new hope for him and the surrounding residents. namely having a decent place to live.
In the agenda of the visit to the area, President Prabowo absorbed the aspirations of local residents, one of which was about decent housing.
