Successful Passing of Oil Vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, the Malaysian Prime Minister Returns to Jakarta This Afternoon

JAKARTA - The Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police carried out traffic engineering by closing a number of protocol roads related to the visit of Malaysian Prime Minister (PM) Anwar Ibrahim to Indonesia this afternoon.

Before departing for Jakarta, PM Anwar successfully lobbied Iran to allow his oil tanker to cross the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, regarding his visit to Jakarta, the Director of Traffic of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Komarudin, in his statement, Friday, explained that the closure was temporary.

"Just like other VVIP security, the closure is only when the (group) of greatness passes," said Komarudin as reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 27.

He mentioned that several sections of the protocol road would be engineered starting at 15.30 WIB, as follows:

Halim Perdanakusuma Road MT Haryono Road Gatot Subroto Road Sudirman Road MH Thamrin Road West Merdeka Road

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to meet President Prabowo Subianto on Friday, March 27, 2026 to discuss the current geopolitical conditions.

"Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim will make a special visit to Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, on March 27, 2026, at the invitation of President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto," said the Malaysian Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra) in Kuala Lumpur, Thursday (26/3).

Wisma Putra revealed that the visit will focus on current geopolitical developments, especially the conflict in the Middle East, as well as its impact on regional stability and the global economy, including its implications for Malaysia and Indonesia.

In addition, Wisma Putra also assessed that the latest developments require comprehensive, careful, and coordinated discussions between the two countries to align positions and strengthen strategic cooperation in responding to the situation.

In this context, the meeting of the two leaders is expected to intensify diplomatic efforts to ease tensions and ensure the sustainability of global trade routes and supply chains that are crucial to the welfare of the people of both countries.

The meeting will also emphasize the importance of strengthening ASEAN's role as a united and principled bloc, so that the region can act collectively in maintaining peace, maintaining regional stability, and protecting economic resilience in the midst of global uncertainty.
