US Soldier Wounded on Abraham Lincoln Carrier, Evacuated to Mainland

JAKARTA - A US Navy soldier was injured aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln when the aircraft carrier conducted flight operations in the Arabian Sea yesterday.

According to a statement from the US 5th Fleet quoted by NBC News on Thursday, March 26, the injured soldier had been evacuated to the mainland and was in stable condition.

The US military claims that the injuries suffered by its Navy soldier are not related to the battle and an investigation is being conducted.

"The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group continues to conduct strike missions in support of Operation Epic Fury," the statement added.

This morning WIB, US President Donald Trump poured out his frustration to NATO countries who rejected the US's call to control the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump stressed the defense pact was rejecting aiding a major US-Israeli attack on Iran that has choked off world oil supplies.

"The United States does not need anything from NATO, but 'never forget' this important point," Trump said on his social media, Truth Social, Thursday, March 26.

Trump's frustration was conveyed ahead of a speech by NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte in Brussels this afternoon local time.

The speech was scheduled to include the delivery of the alliance's annual report by NATO leaders.
