Instagram Prepares Offline Reels, Still Watch Without Signal!

Scroll without signal? It sounds absurd, but this could soon become a reality. Instagram is reportedly preparing a new feature that allows users to watch Reels offline - a solution for those of you who often "lose the world" on planes or blank spots.

This leak comes from a developer who found the "Manage offline downloads" option in the application system, indicating that Instagram is testing an auto-download short video content feature.

Scroll Keep Going, Even If the Internet is Lost

This feature allows users to automatically download up to 50 Reels to their device, so they can still watch them without an internet connection. Users also have full control - from the limit on the number of videos (10, 30, or 50), to the option to only download when connected to Wi-Fi.

With this system, the application will intelligently "pre-load" content based on user preferences, similar to the Smart Downloads feature on the streaming platform.

Interestingly, videos that have been downloaded can appear directly in the feed as usual - as if you were still online - or accessed via a special folder in the application.

This move shows a clear strategy from Instagram: maintaining user engagement even when they are offline. This is not just an additional feature, but an effort to extend screen time without depending on the network.

Although there is no official release date, the level of readiness of this feature is said to be quite mature. This means that it's just a matter of waiting for the time before "doomscrolling" really becomes an unlimited activity - even without a signal.
