Trump Wants Conflict with Iran to End Before Leaving for China
JAKARTA - US President Donald Trump believes the conflict with Iran is now in its final stages and he hopes it will end in the coming weeks.
According to a Wall Street Journal report citing sources, Trump told his advisers and urged them to stick to the time frame that had been announced to the public, namely four to six weeks.
As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday, March 25, said Trump would visit Beijing on May 14-15 to hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
White House officials had set a meeting between Trump and Xi in Beijing in mid-May, hoping to resolve the conflict with Iran before the summit began, according to the report.
On February 28, the United States and Israel launched an attack on targets in Iran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran retaliated by attacking Israeli territory and American military facilities in the Middle East.
