KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 Berths in Jakarta After Sailing from Italy
JAKARTA - The new warship of the Indonesian Navy, KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321, finally docked at Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta, after sailing from the La Spezia Naval Base dock, Italy.
Upon arrival at Pier 107 Tanjung Priok Port, the Commander of KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321, Rear Admiral (P) Kurniawan Koes Atmaja, got off the ship to report to the TNI Commander General TNI Agus Subiyanto.
"This morning, we just received the arrival of KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 which departed from La Spezia, Italy, to the homeland in 44 days," said the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 26.
He explained that the journey of KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 took quite some time because it circled the Atlantic Ocean to the Indian Ocean before arriving in Lampung on Monday (23/3) and finally resting in Jakarta.
According to Ali, KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 has the same specifications as KRI Brawijaya-321 which was also produced by Fincantieri, an Italian shipyard, and has been stationed at Koarmada II for the past few months.
"This ship is the second ship of the Brawijaya class from Fincantieri, Italy. The condition or status of this ship is almost the same as Brawijaya because it is one class, one type. The equipment and capabilities are also the same," explained Ali.
He said that KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 will also be stationed at Koarmada II, Surabaya, East Java.
Meanwhile, the Head of the TNI AL Information Service, Admiral TNI Tunggul, explained that the KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 started its first departure from Italy to Indonesia on February 11, 2026.
After departing from Italy, the ship stopped in various countries, such as the Kingdom of Morocco and Nigeria. During the stopover, the Commander of the KRI and a number of officers carried out port visits and honor visits.
"This reflects Indonesia's commitment to building a modern maritime defense force while strengthening friendship with friendly countries," said Tunggul, as quoted in a press release.
He said the KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321, which has a length of 143 meters and a width of 16.5 meters, had carried out a test to strengthen its alutsista capabilities and combat readiness before arriving in the country.
The warship is equipped with an OTO Melara 127-millimeter main gun, a 76-millimeter Strales gun for medium-range air targets, 16 vertical missile launchers for air attacks, Teseo Mk-2E missiles for surface targets, anti-submarine torpedoes, and close-range automatic weapons.
The TNI AL believes that the presence of KRI Prabu Siliwangi-321 reinforces the TNI's steps in strengthening and modernizing the weapon system of the fleet, as well as demonstrating Indonesia's commitment to the defense and security of the maritime region.
"This reflects Indonesia's readiness to build high-tech defense capabilities, as well as respond to future maritime security challenges," he added.
