Must Know! This is How to Check the Feet of Cars After Eid

JAKARTA - For those who travel home for Eid using a car, they must check the legs (suspension and steering system), because it is the part that works the hardest to support the weight of the vehicle, especially when passing through various road conditions to full load.

It is important to know that the car's front-to-front system includes a number of important components such as shock absorbers, per, ball joint, tie rod, arm bushing, stabilizer link, steer rack, to the braking system. All of these components are integrated to maintain stability, dampen vibrations, and keep the direction of the speed precise.

Asst to Aftersales Department Head of Service PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS), Hariadi, explained that the homecoming journey was one of the driving moments with the condition of durability, because the vehicle was driven to face various uncertain conditions.

"Therefore, it is important for customers to check the condition of car components, such as the foot area. It is best to ensure that the condition remains optimal and ready to be used again every day," he said in an official statement received, Thursday, March 26.

Here is a guide to checking the feet that can be done by vehicle owners. Recognize the early signs before the damage gets bigger.

The earliest check can be done by the vehicle owner by feeling the difference from before the homecoming trip. For example, such as the appearance of a loud collision noise (clunking noise) when passing a damaged road, the steering wheel feels vibrating at a certain speed, the vehicle is unbalanced, or the wheels tend to pull to one side. These signs can be early indications of poor conditions on the feet.

If abnormal conditions are found, then customers need to immediately take their vehicles to an official Suzuki workshop. Parts that may require inspection include bushings, ball joints, stabilizer links, or steering components that begin to wear due to impact and load during the homecoming trip.

Check the shock absorber to maintain stability and comfort

A weakened shock absorber usually makes the car feel swinging or bouncing excessively, especially after passing a speed trap or an uneven road. Visual inspection can also be done by looking at the oil discharge on the shock body and immediately taking the vehicle to the official Suzuki workshop for further inspection.

Ensure steering precision through tie rod and steering component inspection

Uneven road contours during the homecoming journey can affect steering components such as tie rods and steer racks which play a major role in the level of control precision. If the steering wheel feels less responsive when turning, there is abnormal noise, or the car feels difficult to go straight, then the steering inspection needs to be prioritized so that vehicle control is optimal again.

Do spooring and balancing if there is vibration or uneven tire wear

Vibration in the steering wheel or unevenly worn tires is often related to changes in wheel angle or wheel balance. Spooring and balancing at the official Suzuki workshop helps restore stability, making the car go more straight, while helping to prevent the tires from wearing out quickly, especially after long routes with full load.

"Spooring and balancing are very important to maintain stability and safety. By straightening the wheel direction and at the same time ensuring that the tire rotation is balanced without vibration, driving performance will return to optimal. In addition, this maintenance also helps prevent uneven tire wear so that the service life of the foot-foot components becomes longer," continued Hariadi.
