BMKG Forecasts Rain in Bandung, Denpasar, to Ambon, Check the List

JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) urges the public to increase their readiness for potential rain in most areas of Indonesia on Thursday, March 26.

BMKG Praktirawan, Miftah A in a weather forecast broadcast in Jakarta, Thursday, said that the potential for moderate intensity rain was predicted to occur in Bandung and Tanjung Selor.

"Meanwhile, light rain is potentially falling in Pekanbaru, Jambi, Bengkulu, Bandar Lampung, most of Java, and Palangka Raya," he said, quoted by Antara.

Miftah said that heavy cloudy weather in the western region is expected to cover Banda Aceh, Medan, Tanjung Pinang, Padang, Pangkalpinang, Palembang, Pontianak, Samarinda, and Banjarmasin.

Turning to the eastern part of Indonesia, moderate intensity rain is potentially occurring in Nabire.

Then, continued Miftah, the potential for light rain is expected to rain on Denpasar, Kupang, Palu, Mamuju, Kendari, Makassar, Ambon, and most of the islands of Papua.

"For the potential of cloudy and cloudy weather, it is estimated to occur in Manado, Gorontalo, and Mataram. There is also the potential for hazy air in the Ternate area," he said.

Miftah said the potential for quite significant weather in several regions of Indonesia was caused by a combination of atmospheric dynamics.

One of the atmospheric dynamics is the cyclonic circulation observed in the Western Indian Ocean, Aceh. This system forms a convergence and confluence area that extends in the Andaman Sea and the western waters of Aceh.
