Tourist's Phone Fell into the Sea of Pari Island, Police and Damkar Conduct Evacuation
JAKARTA - Members of the South Thousand Islands Police Precinct evacuated the mobile phone belonging to a tourist with the initials RS who was lost and fell into the sea at the Pari Island Pier, Thousand Islands, North Jakarta.
The Head of the Thousand Islands Police, AKBP Argadija Putra, said his party deployed police personnel after receiving a report from the community.
"This is a form of the best service of the National Police to the public, including tourists. Our members are always ready to be present and provide solutions in every situation," he said when confirmed by VOI, Wednesday, March 25, 2025.
AKBP Arga appealed to tourists to always be careful to take care of their belongings, especially when they are in the pier and sea transportation areas.
The incident began when a tourist from Bandung, the owner of the mobile phone, boarded the KM Diamond 21 boat for a trip.
When the boat was docked at Pari Island pier, a tourist with the initials RS who was about to get off the boat did not realize that the zipper of his bag was open. As a result, his cellphone fell and immediately fell into the sea.
Aware of the incident, the victim reported to the Pari Island Security Post (Pospam). South Thousand Islands Police officers who received the report immediately moved quickly to carry out the search.
Even though it was hampered by the heavy activity of ships at the pier, members still tried their best.
"The search was carried out by diving method by the police personnel together with the fire service. As a result, the mobile phone belonging to the hospital was found at the bottom of the sea," he said.
