OJK Boss Reveals Financial Stability and Public Trust as Priorities
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Friderica Widyasari Dewi stated that the Indonesian financial services sector is currently facing challenges that are not easy in the midst of global dynamics.
However, Friderica is optimistic that with the solid teamwork in the OJK environment, the national financial services sector can continue to grow and progress.
Kiki, a nickname for Friderica, emphasized that the OJK's main priority is to maintain the stability of the Indonesian financial system, and his party is also focusing on restoring public confidence, especially in the capital market sector and other financial sectors.
"Of course, our goal is to maintain the stability of the Indonesian financial system, then the next thing is to restore public confidence," he said in a press conference, March 25.
Furthermore, he conveyed that OJK would optimize the contribution of the financial services sector to national economic growth as well as support government priority programs.
Kiki said that in terms of supervision, OJK would continue to strengthen integrated supervision and licensing.
"If we look back, why was OJK formed because there was financial conglomeration, yes, hybrid products and others, of course, integrated supervision and also integrated licensing into one of our priority programs," he said.
In addition, he said that deepening the financial market is also an important focus to increase the role of the financial services sector as an engine for economic growth.
On the other hand, Friderica emphasized that the growth and innovation of the financial services sector should not ignore consumer and community protection.
"How can the financial services sector continue to grow, innovate, but still prioritize the protection of consumers and the community," he explained.
He added that OJK will also strengthen law enforcement in the financial sector, as well as increase synergy and collaboration with various stakeholders to create a better Indonesian economy in the future.
