President Pezeshkian Appreciates Turkish and President Erdogan's Solidarity for Iran
JAKARTA - Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Wednesday issued a message in Turkish to express his gratitude to his "dear brother" President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, for his firm stance in condemning the aggressive Zionist regime.
"The brotherly Turkish nation has played an important role in solidarity with Muslims for years. We will continue this noble path together, with divine blessings," he said in a tweet amid the raging US-Israeli-Iranian war across the region, reported from Daily Sabah (25/3).
In a separate tweet, President Pezeshkian said "many countries" are experiencing a resurgence.
"The people of Pakistan, Turkey, Iraq, Lebanon, Egypt, and Arab countries have loudly expressed their disgust with America, Israel, and their crimes. The hearts of free people in the world are not with the Zionists. Stability in this region is only possible through cooperation and respect for the will of the nations," he wrote in a Persian tweet.
"The war led by Israel against the countries in the Middle East region is causing greater losses for the whole world," President Erdogan said on Tuesday, warning that rising tensions, including disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, were pushing the global economy into chaos, as the consequences were felt far beyond the Middle East.
"As the war progresses, new complications continue to emerge," President Erdogan said at a press conference after a Cabinet meeting in the capital Ankara, pointing to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz as a development that had caused serious turmoil in the global economy.
Underlining the importance of the strategic waterway, through which about 20 percent of global energy trade passes, President Erdogan warned that disruptions had forced some countries to take steps to reduce fuel consumption.
He stressed that the economic burden of the conflict is increasing every day, underlining the urgent need to end the war.
President Erdogan also called for immediate action against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his circle, describing them as responsible for the ongoing violence and urging all countries to take a bold and proactive stance for regional and humanitarian peace.
Turkey, he said, is among the countries that accurately assess developments and act with "state wisdom," while maintaining a balanced and principled position.
"We are determined to keep our country outside the circle of fire," President Erdogan said, warning of the risk of conflict turning into a prolonged friction war between regional countries.
He stressed that Turkey did not want to see the conflict spread further, and reiterated Ankara's call for de-escalation and a quick resolution.
