This Friday, Indonesia will lead the UN Human Rights Council debate on the US-Israel attack on a school in Iran
JAKARTA - The United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC) will hold a second urgent debate to respond to the massive US-Israeli air raids bombing a school in Iran.
Quoting Al Jazeera, Wednesday, March 25, the President of the United Nations Human Rights Council (HRC), Sidharto Reza Suryodipuro said that this second debate will be held on Friday, March 27.
The former Indonesian Ambassador to India said the debate would discuss "the protection of children and educational institutions in international armed conflicts".
The UN Human Rights Council debate, requested by Iran, China and Cuba, refers to the first day of the US-Israeli attack on Iran targeting a girls' elementary school in Minab, Tehran.
The attack killed 168 children aged between 7-12 years, and many other injured.
Iranian diplomat, Somayeh Karimdoost, described the attack "as a grave violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law" in her speech to the council recently.
