Spirit Without Limits, Mrs. Irma and the Empowerment of Disabilities through PNM Mekaar
JAKARTA - Physical limitations are often considered as obstacles, but for Mrs. Irma, a PNM Mekaar customer in Gunugleutik, Ciparay District, Bandung Regency, it is not the end of the struggle.
As a disabled woman, Mrs. Irma has proven that limitations are not an excuse to be silent and passive, but rather become motivation to move forward, be productive, and have an impact on their community.
PNM's commitment to empowering pre-prosperous women without discrimination gives room for Mrs. Irma to develop the potential she has and share her knowledge and spirit with fellow disabled people in the surrounding area, a step that is in line with the inclusive movement and broad economic empowerment.
The empowerment journey undertaken by Mrs. Irma is not easy, but she continues to show extraordinary determination.
"Even though there are many limitations, we must be strong and as rich as others, do not expect mercy, must be enthusiastic to be able to sell, must be able to be independent, not dependent. Do not sit at home and do not trust yourself. We must help each other and have a strong desire rather than sitting idle. We must prove to them that we can, even though we are often ostracized because I also feel like that," said Mrs. Irma, describing her strong determination to change the stigma and open opportunities for other disabled people to work and be productive.
The benefits conveyed by Ibu Irma are felt directly by one of the disabled people around him, Ibu Iis. "I am very grateful and happy to be watched by Bu Irma so that I feel that I can be more meaningful," said Iis.
This statement is a clear proof that the impact of the accompaniment carried out by Ibu Irma is not only economic, but also provides strong psychosocial support to the disability community in the region.
Dodot Patria Ary, as the Corporate Secretary of PNM, conveyed that empowerment steps as exemplified by Mrs. Irma are a reflection of PNM Mekaar's commitment to creating an inclusive and sustainable entrepreneurship ecosystem.
"The empowerment steps exemplified by Mrs. Irma are tangible evidence of PNM's continued commitment to opening equal access for every pre-prosperous mother to grow in business, caring for others, and inspiring many people in their communities. Mrs. Irma's story shows that economic empowerment not only impacts her own life, but also spreads to the wider social benefits of the surrounding environment," said Dodot.
He emphasized that empowering people with disabilities through business assistance, training, and access to financing is part of the PNM strategy to ensure that every pre-existing mother has the same opportunity to develop in line with the spirit of Growing, Caring, and Inspiring from PNM.
Ibu Irma's story illustrates how economic empowerment not only strengthens the life of one person, but is also able to grow confidence and a real contribution to many people, so that the impact is felt much wider and gives a deep meaning to the surrounding environment.
